Some thought that freelancing is an easy job. That’s a myth! Freelancers who read this can attest to that. Like any other job, it takes hard work and patience and it’s a tough job too. So, how did I start my freelancing career?
Brief Introduction About Me
Hello there! My name is Phoebe Elena Asuncion, and I am a trained General Virtual Assistant at Filipino Virtual Assistance(FVA) Business Consultancy. I have trained under Freelancing Course and my coach is Coach Keren Keziah Ame of West Mindanao. Before becoming a virtual assistant/freelancer, I worked as a Manager and Cashier in a small Bakery Shop in my town. You might think, “A cashier becomes a virtual assistant? That’s impossible!” I thought so too. So, how did I become a freelancer?
My Decision About Starting My Freelancing Career
The terms ‘Freelance’ and ‘virtual assistant’ are foreign to me. Until my cousin did some training to become a freelancer. She introduced the freelancing world to me and she encouraged me to enroll in a Freelancing Course. At first, I don’t dare to become a freelancer because I know that the training is going to be hard and I’m just a high school graduate. I’m not a techy person. I have low self-esteem and always thinking negatively. I always think that I’m just wasting my time and money in this course, and can’t even graduate. But how did I overcome all of this?
I Received Great Help
First, being out of my comfort zone, meeting new people, and learning new things is very hard for me. So when I’m about to give up, my family encourages me and gives me the strength to continue the course. They supported me and always cheering me up.
Second, when the coaching session became so hard and difficult to understand, Coach Keren is always there, caring for us, patiently guiding us, and help us throughout the course. She always reminded us that we have to rest if we’re tired and enjoy the new things we learn. I’m really thankful to her.
Third, I’m really thankful to my kind friends and classmates in the Freelancing Course because they always help me out with my portfolio.
Last but not least, I overcome all of this because I know that Jehovah is always by my side and always helps me to continue my journey.
It’s Really Worth It
I’m really happy and satisfied that I become a freelancer. It’s so fun learning new things about freelancing. My self-confidence raises. My skills improve. So, are you ready to start your own freelancing journey? Instead of not trying and regretting later, why not try now? Remember, that small steps lead to success.
